GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST

Luke 2:11-14 (KJV)
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

All glory belongs to our God in the highest and He alone is worthy of all praises. The heralding of the Messiah was with a glorious salute. “Glory to God in the highest realms of heaven! For there is peace and a good hope given to the sons of men.”
They say the best of all gifts around any Christmas tree is the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other and other presents wrapped up with bright and beautiful gift wraps. But the real and true presence of the season is the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, born in a manger to a virgin girl.
We probably had a sit-down Christmas meal and festivities with families and friends if we are blessed with them but remember that the joy to the world is not in earthly strappings but in the supernatural birth of our saviour-Jesus Christ.
” That unto us is born in the City of David, a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.” This is the reason for the season. Not only on Christmas day, 25th of December but every month, day, hour, minute, and second.
We must minister the message of the season to someone so they too can rejoice, tell them about the “joy to the world” and the reason for your joy and good tidings that permeate your daily life, not just at Christmas.
The true message of Christmas is that the Eternal God came to earth in the form of an innocent and vulnerable baby just to save His own creation from eternal condemnation and destruction.
It was necessary because fallen man is deep in sin, and there is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood, to show that this tiny babe in swaddling clothes came for a purpose, the manger and the cross must be seen together as the symbol of His sinless state and willingness to surrender his life for all.
He came to die for your sins, my sins, and for the sins of the whole world. A born king, only to die to save the lost according to Luke 19:10.
When you see a nativity scene and the baby, think beyond the babe, think of His reason for coming. Think of the gift of salvation and eternal life offered freely to all who’ll accept him-thank God for His indescribable gift of Jesus says 2 Corinthians 2:15 and then give glory to God in the highest.
The works and words of the Old Testament gave us a glimpse of the coming savior- a king who will rescue His people- all those prophecies of over 700 years were finally fulfilled at the birth of the Lord Jesus.
We are created with a purpose, but only through Jesus can we bring “glory to God in the highest.” Jesus came to glorify His Father in heaven by walking out God’s purpose for His earthly life and seeking to glorify His Father
Make the effort to remember the real message of Christmas and His undying love for you.
Let go of all the disappointments of 2021 and leap with glory be to God in the highest ringing from your soul into 2022. The Lord’s with you.
Shalom
