WHO ARE YOU?

1 Peter 2:9 (Darby)
But ye [are] a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;

Have you ever wondered who God says you are?
Throughout life, the enemy will whisper labels in our ears that we begin to identify with and call ourselves.
We’ve probably done that occasionally too.
But Christ calls us “new creations in
2 Corinthians 5:17.
So, who are you?
Where are you? Are still operating under the old man? Are you trying to be someone you are not? Are you trying to follow the masses, which incidentally will cause you to be eternally lost?
if you are not who God says you are, you will end up being a lousy someone else.
It is said that if you constantly measure the today you to the today others, so that the today others is the standard instead of the today unique you that God created, you will never be who God wants you to be.
Who you are now, is not who you were yesterday neither will you be the same you next week, month or year, because you’ll have learnt, grown and achieved more.
We say (or have said) I am unlovable, but God says He loves us forever according to Romans 3:38-39.
We say, we are scarred but God says you are healed according to Isaiah 53:5.
You say you are weak, but God says He makes us strong says Psalm 18:32.
We recognize we are sinners, but God says we are forgiven in 1 John 2:12.
We feel abandoned, but God says He adopted us in Ephesians 1:5.
We say we are broken, but God says He makes us whole and complete according to Colossians 2:10.
We have been rejected, but God says we belong to Him in Isaiah 43:1.
We feel alone, but God says He is always with us in Hebrews 13:5.
We feel and think we are hopeless, but God says because of His plans, we should be hopeful according to Jeremiah 29:11.
We believe we are purposeless, but God says He created us for and with purpose like Esther in Esther 4:14.
God thinks highly of us, He knows who we are, He declares it all in the bible, you are more than a conqueror, an overcomer, the beloved of the Lord.
Do not allow anybody or society to take from you what God gave you from the foundation of the world.
There are so much more God wants you to believe in yourself, but the world wants you to think otherwise.
You are not a failure but victorious according to 1 Corinthians 15:57 and even if you feel lost, God will give you direction as stated in Isaiah 30:21 so there’s no need to be anxious, let the peace of God in John 14:27 fill your heart.
Happiness is fleeting, dependent on your circumstances and mood but the joy of the Lord overflows every area of our lives according to John 15:11.
Do not fear when men call you names, be confident in who God says you are, you are precious, special, fearfully, and wonderfully made according to Psalm 139:14, hold it as a badge of honour that the Lord died to give you value and by his blood, your worth increased.
So, be powerful in who God says you are, chosen person, a priest, a holy person, God’s possession of excellence. You are God’s beloved.
Shalom
