Psalm 37:7 (KJV)
Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Waiting! I am waiting! You’re waiting! Everyone is waiting! Waiting for something or someone, waiting patiently or impatiently for whatever it is one is waiting for!
What are you waiting for? For marriage? Exams? Babies? Jobs? Health improvement? Whatever we are waiting for may be important for us to wait for however long it takes to manifest.
The dominant sense of waiting is that of “hope” and as Romans 4:18 says, against hope Abraham believed in hope with the result that he became the father of many nations according to the pronouncement. So, Hope!
We can’t wait for anything without hope. Hope, the desire for some good, accompanied by an expectation of obtaining it, that it’s obtainable; an expectation of something which in confidence and pleasing expectancy.
You need patience declares Hebrew 10:36. Patience according to Galatians 5:23 is both a virtue and the fruit of the spirit. Without patience, we can’t wait for anything.
What are you waiting for? Have you got the patience to wait for it? You can’t hurry anything to happen, you need patience to wait it out!
We must learn to rest in the Lord and wait for Him, He alone knows the way that we take and when He has tried us we shall come out like gold according to Job 23:10, this seems to imply that, we would miss the opportunity to shine like gold if we don’t wait on the Lord to do what He needs to do in, for and through us while we wait.
We mostly claim to be patient, but it’s only when we’re waiting on God for something that we discover how utterly impatient we are, waiting on God and resting in Him is the only way we cultivate patience. He knows the best time to come through for us and will not be one second early or late as 2 Peter 3:9 says, the Lord is not slow or fast, He’s always on time. He is punctual!
Learn to wait on the Lord, whilst you’re waiting, He’s building your character, pruning, training, and teaching you to handle those things you’re waiting for when they finally materialize.
Use your waiting time to shed much-needed excessive baggage, acquaint yourself with the scriptures and realign yourself with His will and purpose.
When you wait on God, the Holy Spirit leads you into gaining insight and revelation that would otherwise be lacking, so that when you look back, you’ll even be surprised at what you accomplished through the help of the Holy Spirit.
Rest in the Lord, cease from your struggles, be still and silent, be dumb. Don’t find fault with God; He does all things well for others, and He will do all things well for you too.
So, wait patiently for Him, and be expectant, be determined to expect, as you wait for Him. While you wait, be submissive to His will and instructions and avoid petulance, murmurings, anger, and rash actions.
All our spiritual activities can go no further without God’s goodness and mercy, patiently waiting teaches us to be dependent on God. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.
