THE SPIRIT OF REJECTION

Isaiah 53:1-5 (AMP)
1 WHO HAS believed (trusted in, relied upon, and clung to) our message [of that which was revealed to us]? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been disclosed?
2 For [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He has no form or comeliness [royal, kingly pomp], that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

Rejection is to discard someone or something as unwanted or defective with an underlying sense of casting away. Alienation, isolation, and rejection are paralyzing. People reject each other daily and great pain is often the result of rejection.
Everyone has experienced rejection in life, it’s not new, even Jesus Christ was rejected and continues to be rejected daily.
People reject Christ every second intentionally or unintentionally. Vs 3 tells us man did not appreciate His worth or esteemed Him.
The spirit of rejection refers to the mindset ingrained into us which tells us that we are unloved, unwanted, or will never be good enough which makes us strive to earn our acceptance.
People feel driven to perform to be approved, making people feel they are loved for what they do rather than for whom they are.
Sadly, no achievement is ever enough to satisfy or override the spirit of rejection.
The spirit of rejection is the lies of the enemy and a syndrome of self-talk that comes from being programmed with falsehoods.
A lie told often enough, soon becomes accepted when the victim agrees with the accusations and become their accuser. The deceit becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Some have experienced painful rejection in their lives. It may be the loneliness of relational failure, the confidence-breaking experience of job termination, or the self-condemnation of a guilty conscience. Since we feel rejected by others and reject ourselves and others sometimes too, we often assume that God rejects us as well.
Isaiah tells us the rejection Jesus suffered on behalf of humanity; Christ not only knew the rejection of men but that of God the Father even with suffering the pain of the cross. If man rejects God daily, they will reject you, but God will never reject you according to John 6:36-38, never feel like you’re alone, the Lord knows what it means to be rejected, despised, and isolated.
The stronghold of rejection is powerful, and it can only be torn down by God’s truth, so, choose to believe the truth because only the truth you know can set you free instead of the lies. The truth God’s love cures every wounded soul.
The woman caught in adultery in John 8 was rejected by the town, wanting to lynch her and hoping Jesus will join them but He disappointed them, He didn’t reject her, and neither will He reject you.
The spirit of rejection undermines the confidence of so many Christians and interferes with true fellowship between friends, man, and God. Rejection is the worst pain the human spirit can suffer. Anyone who has been abandoned, abused, or endured discrimination can relate to this kind of anguish.
God loves us so much He accepts us just as we are!
Yet He loves us too much to leave us like we are, allow His love to overwhelm you to overcome the spirit of rejection. God’s loving light illuminates our hurting hearts and heals them. God wants to heal us of the internal strongholds that have been hidden inside us. Only then, with Christ’s love, authority, and truth, can we overcome rejection. Let the prince of peace fill you with His love. You are not rejected!
Shalom
