STRENGTH FOR PURPOSE

2 Chronicles 16:9 CSB
For the eyes of the LORD roam throughout the earth to show himself strong for those who are wholeheartedly devoted to him. You have been foolish in this matter. Therefore, you will have wars from now on.”

We know that any form of weakness is unappealing to the human mind. Strength, physical and otherwise is good but the importance of strength shows itself when it transcends what you do for yourself, your ability, your knowledge and emotions.
What is strength? Strength for believers is the power and ability that comes from God which carries and sustains us.
The strength you earn through your fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the dependence on the Word of God is what drives our passion for purpose.
1 Chronicle 16:11 says to search for the Lord and His strength always and to keep searching.
The strength we need for purpose can only be found in the Lord, so it stands to reason that we would need to keep seeking and asking, we must have a mindset of desperation when it comes to searching and receiving the Lord’s strength.
There are all kinds of strength required for all kinds of battles but majorly, as according to Nehemiah 8:10, only the joy of the Lord in us can strengthen us for every battle.
There are times and seasons in our lives when we literarily cry for strength to handle whatever life throws at us, often, this is because the physical, emotional or mental strength that has sustained us this far has now been depleted.
Psalm 34:24 says to be strong, and God will strengthen your heart, but you first must seek His presence and His strength and above all to wait on Him, because the Lord cannot strengthen you when your heart is somewhere else, or your hope is something or someone else.
The Lord God is our strength and has made our feet like hind’s feet-Habakkuk 3:19. Life will get difficult, painful and scary sometimes to carry on, other times, weakness may stop us from taking another step but as long as we look to and depend on the Lord, He will help us walk on high places.
When all human help fails, God, in His remarkable manner, will intervene-as in the case of Paul in 2 Timothy 4:16-17. We all go through rough patches where sometimes, no one offers support, encouragement and help but the Lord gives us the strength to keep going and to remain strong, as Paul said, “the Lord stood with me,” The Lord can and will stand with you too in every situation if you call out and allow Him to deliver you as He did Paul.
If you have tried in your strength, your ability and wisdom, or you have leaned on others to get you out of the lion’s mouth (whatever that lion in your life is) but no success so far, maybe it’s time to lean on the Lord’s strength.
According to Jeremiah 16:19, God is our strength and fortress in a life surrounded by vanity without profit. We need to understand and catch God’s vision of strength and protection for His chosen and accept that it is not for a while, for sometimes, not for a season but always. God’s strength is available to us all the time and in every situation-so lean on the Lord God, He’s able to carry you through if you depend on Him for the strength for your purpose.
Shalom
