SPPE; SPIRITUAL PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Ephesians 6:10-18 (AMP)
10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].
14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,
15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.
16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].
17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.
18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).

Wow! Who would have thought we would still be going on about Covid-19 in 2021?
Remember when the uproar of PPE first started? The most used word of 2020! PPE, that’s the word that’s been floating around since March 25th, 2020. Personal protective equipment, PPE for short, which unfortunately turned out not to be so protective after all if the number of deaths is to be believed.
Ephesians 6:10-18 describes a different kind of PPE, an indestructible and impenetrable PPE, a spiritual personal protective equipment (SPPE), THE ARMOUR OF GOD, one which every believer needs to survive in the battle of life. Essentially, to put on the armour is to put on Christ.
The world was led to believe that putting on man-made clothing made from biodegradable materials to fight a virus so small yet so destructive could save their lives, but we see how well all that worked out. The world is still being ravaged by covid-19. On the other hand, the Lord says to put on Christ, the whole armour of God which will not only protect you from what you can see, but also from those unseen enemies.
The scheme of the enemy is unseen, just as the coronavirus the world is still battling, but he can do a lot of damage before you can find a solution.
You are a warrior, child of God, but you will be left exposed if you go about without clothing yourself first in your SPPE daily. The one sure way of not becoming a casualty and statistic of the enemy is to gird yourself for daily spiritual warfare with the prescribed weapon of God.
Man’s PPE is limited in coverage, but God’s SPPE gives you full coverage and full functionality, check out your protective covering benefits:
Helmet of salvation- your head.
The breastplate of righteousness- your vital organs.
The belt of truth- keeps you standing.
The shield of faith- protection from far-flung weapons.
Sandals- keeps your feet comfortable blister-free.
The sword- gives you a fighting chance from a distance.
The armour of God is metaphoric for the physical armour worn by the Roman soldiers, or it just means as Christians, we need to be vigilantly righteous and suited up for spiritual warfare by the grace of God.
Isaiah 59:16-17 draws a good picture of a warrior armed for intercession, you don’t go into a physical battlefield without the appropriate clothing, how much then, go into a spiritual battlefield without your SPPE, our battles are not against flesh and blood, so do not expect flesh and blood weapons to do the work.
Satanic viruses are numerous and systematic in destruction, but the Lord shall fight for you, Exodus 14:14—God alone shall bring you off, and defeat your foes. You do still need to put on your SPPE because it is the only weapon strong enough to withstand, counter and defeat all attack, which is the truth of the gospel (John 17:17) tied firmly on your waistline (Jeremiah 13:11) in righteousness (Matthew 6:33) expressed in faith (Romans 10:17) which you received at salvation (Acts 4:12) offered by Gods Spirit and word. Warrior king and queen, your armour should be worn daily if you’re to remain a victorious soldier of Christ.
Shalom
