SEED OF PRAYER

Luke 8:5-11 (AMP)
5 A sower went out to sow seed; and as he sowed, some fell along the traveled path and was trodden underfoot, and the birds of the air ate it up.
6 And some [seed] fell on the rock, and as soon as it sprouted, it withered away because it had no moisture.
7 And other [seed] fell in the midst of the thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it [off].
8 And some seed fell into good soil, and grew up and yielded a crop a hundred times [as great]. As He said these things, He called out, He who has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him consider and understand by hearing!
9 And when His disciples asked Him the meaning of this parable,
10 He said to them, To you it has been given to [come progressively to] know (to recognize and understand more strongly and clearly) the mysteries and secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that, [though] looking, they may not see; and hearing, they may not comprehend.
11 Now the meaning of the parable is this: The seed is the Word of God.

The parable of the farmer scattering seeds could be the reaction, application or use of God’s word in our lives and how many prayers we are scattering.
How do we react when life throws us a curve? I’ve come to one conclusion in my life; when life throws me a curve, I allow it to push me to my knees at the cross, gazing at Christ, the Author according to Hebrews 12:2, who know how my story will end.
The principle of farming starts with scattering the seedlings, then ploughing the soil for deep root planting. The farmer does the hard work of sowing the seed or prayers like lots of us have done and still do but the devourer seems to be following us behind and extracting the sown seeds of prayers, and in time, if we’re not watering our seeds, there will be nothing left to harvest.
The results of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 is what we find referred to in 2 Corinthians 9:6- if you expect the miraculous, supernatural and blessed life, you’ll need to be generous in your praise, prayer and seed sowing. Charity is part of your seedlings. Your prayer without ceasing is to pray always constantly, consistently in every situation and atmosphere.
Your prayer is the seeds you plant and water by prayer and praise for a good harvest.
A farmer who looks at the weather before sowing will not and should not expect a harvest, same as believers, a Christian who does not sow seeds of prayers should not expect a harvest- be free and generous in sowing but prudent and wise, sow in as many waters as the Lord leads you to sow in, sow bountifully- sow your time, your money, your skills and talents, prayers and any other thing the Lord leads you to. You’ll be blessed by rising to every occasion the Lord leads you to sow in according to Isaiah 32:20.
Your sowing is what makes the clouds heavy to be emptied over your life as stated in Ecclesiastes 11:3. If you have not sown any seed, and if you don’t water the sown seeds, you’ll have nothing to harvest.
We get tired, weary, and disappointed when it looks like there’s no answer to our prayers, then there won’t be any harvest to bring in and when it looks like the seeds are destroyed, we give up on sowing any more seed. Remember, the enemy would do everything in his power to stop you from coming into your inheritance according to Galatians 6:7.
As Kingdom people, we are to sow God’s word into others and have God’s word sown into our lives daily.
This parable warns us that hardness of heart, shallowness, love of money, and the cares of the world will only prevent the growth of the fruit which God intends for us.
Selfishness, stinginess, and meanness is not the trait of believers and Philippians 2:4 exhorts us to be of the same humble mind that Jesus displayed: to think of others as better than ourselves, to be more concerned for their interests and welfare than for our own, to do this, we must constantly sow seeds of prayer and anything else people around us need. Sow seed in someone today.
Shalom
