Ecclesiastes 3:1-9 (ESV)
1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
9 What gain has the worker from his toil?
Seasons come and go but God’s word remains firm and sure forever according to Isaiah 40:8. What season are you in? Do you recognise the season you are in? Do you know that the only weapon applicable to every season is the word of God? Deuteronomy 30:14 says the word of God is in your mouth and your heart – in your mind, which means you’ve got to use your mouth and your word wisely to change your season if you don’t like it.
The spoken word cannot be recalled, so be sure of your confessions and declarations before you utter them, be sure you’re speaking the right and wise word over your life, your family, loved ones and finances. Value your words because God values them and waits expectantly to hear your faith-filled words, Isaiah 55:11.
Life as we know it is changed forever, 2020 will be remembered for a lot of things- what part of it will you remember? Things we were so used to are gone forever, systems and ideas we trusted are irrevocably damaged. This is saying that whatever is not standing and founded on the word of God is subject to change while the word of God lasts forever, Matthew 24:35.
The world is slowly dying, governments are being toppled, man is killing each other, and the enemy seems to be on a rampage to take as many lives as he can in every way, but we have the word of life in us. We must use the word of God to counter every death sentence the enemy dishes out; the season of the word is more for now and always than for later. John 6:63 says the word is a spirit which cannot die, so too are your words, they cannot until they reach their full maturity, potential, and possibilities.
Every word you speak gives life to something, your words give birth to life or death, make sure you are speaking life to give life to the right things. The Lord has already sent His word to you, catch it, hold onto it, and use it to affect your season. Psalm 147:15.
Us your words, prophecy God’s word, send your words as armies and messengers and watch them move swiftly to accomplish God’s mandate over your season.
Seasons come according to the seeds that have been sown, if you are not speaking, it means you are not sowing seeds that will later be harvested.
Let the word of God become the conviction that you confess over and over until you see the manifestation of the word.
According to Job 23:12, the commandment of God’s lips, that is, His written word must proceed from our mouths. We must esteem the words of His mouth—we must learn to store the word of God in our hearts, Psalm 119:11, the words of his mouth and we must treat the words of God’s mouth as more valuable than we would any precious treasure.
You have the responsibility to use your words to block and counter every wrong word the enemy throws at you, he wants to mess you up with wrong and negative reports. Give your words life and wings, let every day be the season of the word.
Shalom
