Proverbs 16:3 (CSBBible)
Commit your activities to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
They say, “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Planning is an integral part of every culture and sphere of life and the bible is no different, it is full of stories of effective and poor planning to show us the need to plan.
God is an intentional and purposeful God, He has a plan from creation to eternity in place and in between, He has plans to draw all to Himself by securing salvation for everyone- God’s plan is what we see playing out in the bible.
Planning is part of all our lives, but do we consult the Lord on these plans to make sure they match God’s eternal and perfect plans for us?
Some plan out their year in advance, you hear of the five years plan, the financial plan, the educational plan and more but how many people have spiritual plans in place to help them live out God’s plan on earth according to Jeremiah 29:11?
Does everything happen by chance or are they part of God’s plan?
If God has a plan for you and humanity, why should I even try to plan? This may be a question many will ask. According to Isaiah 25:1, everything
In the world, is the remarkable acts of God, they all bear the marks of His supernatural intervention, plans formed of old, long ago, long before we got here. Nothing about God’s plan is last-minute. Everything is well-planned to fit into His greater plan.
God even uses some unjust situations to fulfil His plan as Joseph said to his siblings in Genesis 45:4-8, that God was behind their plan and action to deliver Israel in the future as stated in Psalm 105:16-2.
Without plans or proper planning, there will be utter chaos, and 1 Corinthians 14:33 says God is not the author of disorder then encourages us in vs 40 to do everything decently and orderly, this will only happen with proper planning.
When the Lord led Nehemiah in 2:11-17 to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, he could have rushed to start building but he took a survey of all that needed to be done and formed a careful plan of what, how, who and when to rebuild the walls. Nehemiah’s story tells us that expects us to use every skill He has put in us, the total package.
Even when we make good plans, formed and carefully thought-out planes according to Proverbs 16:1, we would still require God to bring our plans to manifestation as He thinks proper.
Our plans are dependent on so many factors before they materialize but Psalm 33:11 states that God’s plans are the same from generation to generation.
He planned to make a world, and he made it; to create man, and he created him.
He planned that at a certain period God should be manifested in the flesh, and it was so, that the Gospel would be preached all over the world, it has already nearly overrun the whole earth.
So, plan and commit your plans to God—See that all your plans begin, continues, and end in God. Then and only then would your plans be established and are agreeable to God’s Divine.
Don’t plan to fail! Plan carefully and wisely!
Shalom
