MOTIVATION!

Philippians 4:13 (CSBBible)
I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.

Motivation is that which gives purpose and direction to behaviour that urges or force a person to action, the reason for constraining or the cause to rise to an occasion.
There are all kinds of motivational speakers and motivational speeches today, with so many telling and pushing us towards that goal that we think or suppose we want.
Motivation is a necessary tool and skill to have in any sphere of society- if you deal with people, you’ll need to motivate them to action.
What motives you to keep going? What’s your motivation for getting out of bed daily and participating in all the things you do?
We all need motivation occasionally, you can’t do it on your own. It is not a case of being weak or intelligent, we are born with motivation, and we need it to go the extra mile. When you are not motivated to act but want to do something, you need to be motivated to make that move.
Although, it’s wonderful to hear another telling us how well we’re or can do, as a believer, our motivation must ultimately be from the scripture and the Father and not from the world around us.
David declared that he is motivated to do the Lord’s delight in Psalm 40:8-truly, if the Lord does not help us where else can we go? Nowhere! If the Lord does not motivate us to take a step, who can? No one!
The declaration of the Lord in Isaiah 49:1-3 concerning His servants should motivate us to think as David did in Psalm 73:25 that we have no one in heaven or earth that can make us accomplish what God has planned for us.
Our motivation as believers come from the desire to have peace with God and follow Jesus’s motivational example in John 4:34 for us to be motivated in life.
The Bible is packed full of motivational speeches or verses for diverse needs.
Ezra 6 recounts the activities towards rebuilding the temple, with oppositions and conflicts delaying the construction for 14 years, Zechariah and the leaders backed by God’s power, spoke, motivating the completion of the temple.
As believers, we are motivated by the Spirit of Jesus Christ to do anything we set our minds on, with the knowledge that we were created, gifted, and empowered to do anything.
Solomon’s speech in Ecclesiastes 4 may sound futile but it addresses motivation, according to him, nothing seems to satisfy people-so true. We see from Solomon’s point of view that as believers, we must understand people’s motivational needs, everyone has a primary need to be helped or motivated to achieve a specific goal.
People are motivated, or moved to action, by many different things—to provide for their family, to make someone close to them proud, or to accomplish a difficult goal.
We should know as Paul did in Philippians 3:14 that what is in heaven is worth so much more than what is on earth right now. Our priorities should be motivated to sacrifice our lives so that more people would come to know the saving love of Christ.
According to James 4:3, our prayer must be motivated by scriptural intentions and desires and not carnal and selfish desires.
Be motivated by the Lord!
Shalom
