John 15:15 NIV
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
let me introduce you to my friend Jesus? The friend who laid his life down for me, the one who loves me with an everlasting love, not because of anything I did, do or ever will do but because of who he is.
Jesus is love according to 1 John 1:10 and that’s why he’s my friend because he loves me desperately.
He loves you too and wants to be your friend no matter where you’re coming from, been and done he’s very interested in knowing you, so he can call you his friend.
Have you got a friend like this? No! there’s no other friend like him.
He is Unique! He is good! He is kind! He can do what no others can do! He’s the way! He’s the truth!
He’s the resurrection and life! He is the Word made flesh that becomes the answer we seek.
He can sympathize with us because he’s walked the roads we travel on, so understands whatever you’re facing daily.
He cares for you and will even stoop to your level to meet you wherever you are because he wants to fellowship with you.
He is waving his banner of love over you for all to see how precious you’re to him, even declaring that you’re the golden apple of his eyes.
He is the lover of our souls and serenades us with songs according to Zechariah 3:17.
He carries me when it gets too much for me. He alone can give me what my heart yearns for because he sees and knows what’s in my heart without me uttering a single word.
He’s not afraid of the dark for he is light according to John 8:12, so when you are, he’ll hold your hands and walk with you.
All my sin, shame, and guilt were laid on him in the form of a heavy Cross that he staggard under the weight to Calvary to redeem and ransom me from the Kidnappers hands, he swapped places with me, taking my place on the Cross, and giving me a freedom pass.
He died the painful, humiliating, and undeserved death meant for me because he loves me so much, exchanging his death Certificate for my Birth Certificate.
What friend will dare to die for you?
Love did it.
You must not miss out on this beautiful friendship.
Jesus is love and his love can break through all our resistance to his friendship.
With him we don’t have to think of uncertainty like the poem “he loves me, he loves me not” with Jesus, it is he loves me always.
Jesus is the Friend of Sinners!
To be that friend, Jesus subjected Himself to be born as a helpless baby and to live in a fallen, depraved world, for us all, sinners that fall short of the glory of God according to Romans 3:23. Despite our sinful condition, Jesus desires a relationship with us.
The natural Standard is to shun Sinners, people are quick to disassociate themselves from those who do wrong, not wanting to be tarred by the brush of shame but not Jesus! He courts the Sinners desperately desiring to call them friends.
Revelation 3:20 says he’s standing at the door of your heart, knocking, and hoping you’ll open it to invite him into your life.
Meet my friend, Jesus! Do you want to know him?
He wants to know you!
Shalom
