LET GOD BE TRUE, AND EVERY MAN A LIAR.

Romans 3:3-4 ESV
What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God?
4 By no means! Let God be true though everyone were a liar, as it is written, “That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged.”
5 But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.

Isaiah 53:1 asked a question, “whose report will you believe? The most influential people on earth are people of faith because it takes faith to believe what you cannot see promised by someone you’ve never seen.
Let God be true and every man a liar! Can God pull off what He said in the scriptures? To doubt God’s word is to question if God tells the truth, it’s to question His integrity, the integrity which says God value His word above His name according to Psalm 138:2 saying God magnifies, hold in high esteem and stands behind His Word above all his name.
The deep certainty and confidence in His word is the truth of the Word- the word being spirit and alive, John 6:63 and the word being Jesus Christ, John 1:1-3.
God does not, cannot and will not lie. He is the absolute truth.
Yes! let God be true, and every man a liar—that is, even though it should follow from this that every man lies anyway. God is unbending in His truth and will not change His word or ways as men do says numbers 23:19. God is consummately true and faithful even in the face of man’s unfaithfulness. God reigns true to His character, word and promises declared in 2 Timothy 2:13.
Immutable, translated in Hebrews 6:17, means unchangeable, impossible to lie or ever to lie, this is the force of God not being able to deny Himself and it is proof of His integrity and incomparable strength.
If we are to believe that God does not lie, then ask ourselves why believers and ministers excel in lies, even in preaching the word of God. Many preachers manipulate the word to suit their purpose and audience when the scriptures forbid us from doing so. 2 Peter 1:20 says no scripture is of any private interpretation – in other words, God had it written to be understood one way: His way! So, for anyone to say what they read and interpret is how it is to them is wrong, especially if it’s lined with lies to get their desired result and not God’s, 1 King 22:1-28. You can’t interpret the bible; you can only understand it through study and the instruction of the Holy Spirit according to 2 Timothy 2:15.
Let God be true, and every man a liar!
So why do people change God’s word and go with what they feel is best and not the truth? According to 2 Timothy 4:1, People will turn away from the truth, they will grow weary of the plain gospel of Christ, they will be greedy of tales, and take pleasure in them. People do so when they cannot endure the searching truth of God’s word which is equally true that all the promises of God to this world will be fulfilled. God’s faithfulness does not depend on our belief. Whether we believe it or not, God is true.
Be as careful as you can in handling the Word of God. If you can’t reconcile God’s truth with the lie of men, pray and study and seek the Lord.
Let God be true and every man a liar.
Shalom
