Habakkuk 2:3 ESV
For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
Has the Lord made personal, individual promises to you that you feel is not going to happen or was taking too long? Something humanly impossible that you know only the miraculous or supernatural can bring to pass? Are you having a difficult time waiting and holding on to that promise?
Your vision is for an appointed time—but in the end, it shall speak. Though it tarries—Though it appears to be taking too long, do not be impatient; it will surely come; it will not tarry longer than the prescribed time, and this time is not far distant. Wait for it. Hold on!
“Appointed time” also means a time already established and decided for certain reasons, Isaiah 25:1 says God does not have last-minute plans for you but that all His plans and visions concerning you were formed of old. It’s like having an appointment made for future occurrences. We cannot have access to a doctor, a dentist, or a mechanic until our appointment time has come. Similarly, God has “appointments” for specific things in our lives. Those things will happen at their appointed times; they will not be early, but they will not be even one minute late. Be encouraged. God will keep the appointments He has for you!
Be assured with the confident trust in God to keep His word regardless of the enemies pre-empting you or God, the Lord is not subject to the time, plans and standard of man. God does not lie! Numbers 23:19; God is not man, that he should lie. Balaam affirmed God’s truthfulness in all things, confirmed in Titus 1:2 that every counsel and promises of the Lord concerning you are unchangeable; no attempt on your side will prevail upon Him to reverse them will succeed, as it happens with a man. His promises to you will certainly come to pass.
God’s promise to you is like a seed, it must first fall on the fertile soil of your heart and faith and given time to grow through regular watering by the word of God in prayer and praise until is established.
We cannot manipulate God to do what He promised to do, nor to move before He was ready to move-its not by your power or might but by the Spirit of God. Zechariah 4:6.
Stand on that promise, hold firmly to that word, only spirit-filled promises is completely capable of producing spiritual life from the seed of a word because it has life in it and will come to life in its time. John 6:63.
Make God’s promises to you, your weapon of choice, make it the greatest weapon for fighting the warfare of doubt, fear and unbelief. Hold on to that promise, keep reading it, keep confessing it, keep believing it, don’t stop saying it. Every other thing may fail, but God’s word will always prevail. It will be accomplished, hold on! Isaiah 55:11.
Hold on to the promised word, make it like cash in your wallet, get it out regularly, scan it, say it, shout it loud and give God praise in expectancy of the established promise-keep believing God and it will happen. Hold on!
Shalom
