3 John 1:2 (ESV)
Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
We all desire financial prosperity and work tirelessly to achieve it but according to Deuteronomy 8:18, power for financially prosperous comes from God and it’s to have enough money to aid the work of God’s kingdom and to help the needy and less privileged.
So many people misunderstand prosperity, unfortunately, some think it’s a sin to be rich. Perhaps many people have been brainwashed to think this way due to many false prophets or ministers trying to extract money from God’s people, but regardless of what people do, God never changes. God is the same yesterday, today and forever and He’s not going to change His plan concerning us because of the mistakes or shortcomings of others.
Proverbs 13:22 states that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just- how will you claim your share of that wealth without God’s wisdom and guidance?
Wealth and riches are God’s plan for His people. If the wealthiest God is thrice holy, then it is possible to be rich and holy at the same time.
When Jesus talked about wealth, that it would be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, He was speaking of those who love, rely on, and would do anything to keep the riches they have acquired, loving money according to 1 Timothy 6:10 in place of God.
God’s perspective according to Psalm 1:3 on financial prosperity is that whatever we lay our hands on will prosper. Some of us have laboured hard yet have nothing to show for our efforts.
But God’s desire is clear from the text, for us to prosper.
We can work, till, plant and do all we know to do but if the Lord’s hand is not in any of the things we do, it will be a waste.
The Lord teaches us to make a profit in all our endeavours says Isaiah 48:17.
According to Ezekiel 34:25-31, the Lord assures us of security and prosperity with a covenant of peace where there will be showers of blessings. The showers of blessing will not last if we don’t walk in obedience to God’s word or the principles of kingdom finances.
We must learn to exercise our finances by faith and believe in God concerning our prosperity.
It is the Father’s will and agenda for His children to manifest wealth and riches, to prosper and to be in good health.
Matthew 6:33 says when we seek God first, everything we need will be added to us.
The Lord gives us seed as states in 2 Corinthians 9:10 to sow which create the kind of heaven ordained and lasting prosperity God wants for us.
So, do not eat your seed, sow it! The seed is your tithe, offerings, and love gifts.
A farmer harvests crops for eating or selling, then he keeps the seedlings to invest for the next planting season, by and large, the farmer will always be the first to enjoy the harvest according to 2 Timothy 2:6.
The wealth God blesses us with is not only for us but be a blessing for other people.
God is our source, provider, and helper who empowers us to prosper. Financial prosperity is your inheritance.
Shalom.
