FAITHFULNESS OF GOD

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NLT2)
Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.

Faithfulness is a combination of eighteen words according to the Strong’s talking Hebrew dictionary: truth, faithfully, office, faithful, faith, stability, steady, truly, and verily. Faithfulness is one of God’s attributes and character.
The faithfulness of God is in the fact that God is always true to His character. One of the most powerful words to describe God’s character is the Hebrew word “Hesed.” It is usually translated as “steadfast love.” Deuteronomy 7:9 reveals that God is filled with compassion. If God is true to His character, we can count on God’s faithfulness to His loved ones.
God stands in the place of absolute truth, from which His faithfulness comes.
Faithfulness is who God is and what He does. God does not decide to be faithful on a whim or because it seems like the right thing to do today. The first thing we need to understand about His faithfulness is that God is ever faithful to His name, His character, and His Word. The faithfulness of God is deeply rooted and is an integral part of who He is.
Throughout the bible, the Lord showed us how faithful He is even in situations that seem unwarranted and unnecessary. 1 Samuel 15:29 says God’ the Strength of Israel will not lie—What He has purposed He will do, for He has all power in the heavens and the earth; and he will not repent, change his purpose, concerning anything.
God often uses unlikely people and circumstances to accomplish His work. Ruth and Boaz are perfect examples of God’s faithfulness. They were an unlikely couple-a middle-aged man and a Moabite widow turned Israelite, book of Ruth.
In Psalm 106:8, God put His reputation on the line for the Israelites as He does with us always. The name of God reveals His faithfulness consistent with His reputation.
If everyone showed integrity in their dealings, we would not need a judicial system. Every agreement between parties, especially monetary agreement, as in 1 Kings 12:15, will not be broken, signed or unsigned.
What kind of reputation are you building with others? Would people feel comfortable going into an agreement with you without a signed legal paper?
faithful–alluding to “faith” in 2 Thessalonians 3:3: God alone could support and give victory; he had promised to do it, and he faithful to do all He promises.
We may forget sometimes that Christianity is based on God’s faithfulness and not on our own. God’s faithfulness would prevail over evil and strengthen us so that we may endure.
God remains faithful when we are not according to 2 Timothy 2:13. God cannot deny His faithfulness.
According to Psalm 100:5, God’s goodness is the perfect, eternal opposition to badness and evil. Mercy and compassion are modifications of his goodness which is everlasting.
You can count on Me- I will not let you down, that’s God’s faithfulness.
God holds faithfulness up as one of the foundational qualities He expects from His people.
Cultivate God’s faithfulness by being trustworthy.
It is our privilege and responsibility to help our children and grandchildren know of God’s compelling faithfulness and that only those who are faithful to the end will share in all God’s riches says Hebrew 3:14. Trust the faithfulness of God.
Shalom
