Exodus 3:15 (AMP)
15 God said also to Moses, This shall you say to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has sent me to you! This is My name forever, and by this name I am to be remembered to all generations.
There are sixty-six books and 1189 chapters in the bible packed full of evidence testifying to God’s power and wonder.
A memorial is something that serves as a reminder, a designation of remembrance, that is what the bible is to us, a memorial, a remembrance of events and proof of power, the reminder of who God is and what He is capable of.
The scripture witnesses to God’s participation in human history for the salvation of God’s people. Memorials of scriptural events reinforce our faith and provide reassurance for us to hold on to whatever the Lord promises us.
The Bible, though, is always amazingly accurate in its historical and geographical details. For example, biblical evidence indicates that Moses authored the Pentateuch, Exodus 17:14; Mark 12:26. This is a clear indication that the word of God is absolute truth.
In the book of Acts, Luke, a man just like us, mentions thirty-two countries, fifty-four cities, and nine Mediterranean islands all present and accurate today. He also mentions ninety-five people, sixty-two of which are not named elsewhere in the New Testament. And his references, where checkable, are always correct.
Imagine a man being this accurate and up to date, how much more where God’s work is concerned.
Well, about the Bible? Does it pass the prophecy test in your estimation? 2 Timothy 3:16-17 clearly states that every word of God is pure, perfect, inspired, profitable, life-changing but unchanging and accurate to all seasons and generations.
Every oracle of God is purified. Everything that God has pronounced, every inspiration which the prophets have received, is pure, without mixture of error, without dross. Whatever trials it may be exposed to, it’s always like gold: it bears the fire and comes out with the same luster, the same purity, and weight.
Let us, therefore, explore the riches of the pages of the bible. It is full to bursting with a banquet of delicacies for everyone. Let us be impressed with its fascinating record of divine histories of events, miracles, marriages, wars, parenting, and much more. Let us be awed with the privileges and responsibilities that are set forth in the Holy Book for us all to emulate.
The bible is many things to many people, what is it to you, child of God? Perhaps, it’s one more book you own, sitting on your shelves but if you need to seek and find God, it holds the key to who God is-it is the evidence of Him who is the “I AM”, He will be whomever and whatever you require Him to be but only in the parameters of His word in the bible because He describes, announces, introduces and reveal Himself only through His word in the scriptures, Exodus 3:14.
Take a deep good look at the scriptures again, acquaint yourself with all the true stories and remember the ones God has done in your life and be thankful for the trail of evidence the Lord left us to build and strengthen our faith in Him. Trust in His Word, it never fails. His promises and His word last forever. Joshua 21:45. Open the book and see the evidence for yourself.
Shalom
