INDUSTRIOUS

Proverbs 10:4 (Darby)
4 He cometh to want that dealeth with a slack hand; but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Industrious is characterized by hard work and perseverance, it means a person who works hard to promote an enterprise.

According to Genesis 2:15, humanity is the only creation formed to be enterprising, to tirelessly seek to better their status.
God has ordered that anyone who will not work should not eat, but He always blesses the work of the industrious person.
Work! Gainful employment! Honest labour! These words seem to be gradually fading from society. It may sound like a swear word to some people while others see it as something other people do.
But God in Genesis 3:19 says that by sweating (hard work, honest labour, diligent industry) would we eat.
There is no shortcut to success or wealth, the process of industry must be applied to every idea for them to become a fruitful harvest.
We shy away from work like it’s a disease, but we want what the proceeds (money, wealth, and prosperity) can give us.
So many characters of the bible had a business, a job, or a career, including Jesus according to Mark 6:3.
Now, some will say, this refers only to men, well. Let me introduce you to Racheal, AKA Mrs Jacob, the first industrious woman in the bible. According to Genesis 29:9-11, she was a shepherd, leading and caring for her father’s flock.
How about Mrs Zipporah Moses? Exodus 2:16-19 tells us she and her sisters were getting water to water their father’s flocks and in Exodus 4:24-26, we see her perform the task of a surgeon when she circumcised her son.
Being industrious doesn’t apply to jobs and careers alone, it could be anything, as Ecclesiastes 9:10 puts it; whatever you can do, do so diligently! And Colossians 3:17 adds that we must do whatever we do as unto God.
We can be industrious in any field we find ourselves in, in a spiritual setting, in manual labour, in a judicial setting, in-home affairs, in the marketplace and indeed whatever. Romans 12:11 recommends that we do industry diligently, tirelessly and glorify the Lord.
Proverbs 6:6-8 is used to teach us how industrious the ant can be, there are no cooperative jobs and career ladder to climb in the animal kingdom and the animals never go hungry but they earn no wage, man is paid a wage for his time, idea and labour according to, whatever you receive from your industry is an obligation according to Romans 4:4 and Luke 10:7, but the labour must first be carried out to earn the wage.
The profit of your time and energy into your industry is what comes out of it according to Proverbs 14:23.
Are you gainfully profiting from whatever you lay your hands on? Or are you waiting for a handout from friends, families, and the government?
Even Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:11, knowing and declaring what he knew as biblical expectations to industry-especially in ministry still maintained the business of tent-making in Acts 18:1-4, he laboured with his hands to provide for himself without depending on other people.
We know that the apostles ran fishing businesses, and Matthew’s tax collecting was a private independent business in those days. Luke practised medicine, and Lydia operated businesses as well in Acts 16:14-15, 40. Do not sleep but be industrious say Proverbs 20:13.
Shalom.
