LIFTED BY THE WORD

1 Samuel 9:27 (AMP)
And as they were going down to the outskirts of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us—and he passed on—but you stand still, first, that I may cause you to hear the word of God.

Life happens to the best of us, and we all need something to lift us when circumstances push us down. How do you get lifted? We all need lifting in one area of our lives or the other. Some look for lifting by participating in adrenaline-induced activities, some, like me, gets lifted by coffee, there’s a sugar rush lifting, and many other unsavoury and dangerous substances or activities to get a lifting but the most significant, life-changing, and beneficial lifting is only by the word of God.
The term lifted is used in both the active and passive voice is found in about two hundred scriptural uses with the primary meanings of “rise,” “lift (up),” and “exalt.”
God’s is divine in lifting the humble and the poor to restore them to dignity according to 1 Samuel 2:8.
Psalm 9:13 is a plea for God to lift us from the gates of death, including every dead situation.
Saul was seeking his father’s lost asses, he met Samuel when he consulted him to help find them. The Lord had informed Samuel that Saul was to be the king, Samuel invites Saul to dine with him and informs him that the animals were found; and intimates him that he is to be king, but before Saul could be anointed, he needed to be lifted from the life of a “pauper” to the life of a “king,” the only thing that can lift a man is the word of God Vs 27.
Promotion is a form of lifting. God is the only right judge of merit with the ability to give a permanent promotion or lifting states Psalm 75:5-7.
We must understand that nothing can be done without the approval of God, remember Job was successful but was stricken when God allowed the devil to wreak havoc upon him, remember Jonah was fleeing and God caused a storm to rise upon him and humble him to the point where he could be used. We cannot do the work of the kingdom without the lifting and empowerment of the word of God and the Holy Spirit.
The word of God is powerful and able to pick us up from the lowest point and place us on the highest point. There is an irresistible supernatural power in God’s word; it will not return to Him empty declares Isaiah 55:11.
Everything in life is subject to the word of God and it is powerful enough to overturn any decree because it is guaranteed by God to be effective, so, when you speak the Word of God, you are tapping into God’s limitless power!
Psalm 119:11 says that the Word of God in our hearts is a powerful antidote to sin, the temptation to pride and the flesh because when the word of God is hidden in us — the word lifts us above sin and temptation for God exalts the humble.
My head will be lifted… that means we shall be placed beyond the reach of our enemies and acknowledge that it is by his might and mercy alone that we have been delivered and are lifted above everything. Remain lifted by the word.
Shalom
