GOD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU

Deuteronomy 1:30 (AMP)
30 The Lord your God Who goes before you, He will fight for you just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes,

In this world of instant news, from all over the globe at our fingertips, there are so many things out in the world that frightens us daily. We fear natural disasters, terrorists, accidents and wars, fatal crimes, and political unrest. We know that God is in control but watching the news can bring us to a state of anxiety and fear if we are not hidden in Christ.
When the Israelites heard about the people in Canaan, they were fearful too. They felt the same fear we do today—an irrational fear. After all, isn’t all fear irrational when God is on our side? The punishment for their irrational fear was a lifetime wandering the desert. God was ready to give them the promised land; their fear gave them the desert.
The Lord shall fight for you—it is, the Word of the Lord, which is the Logos of God, shall fight for you.
Exodus 14:14 states that the Lord shall fight for you, and in our text, He says He goes before you, meaning that whatever battles awaiting you may never afflict you because the Lord will deal with it before it gets to you, as it the Lord’s love and grace that causes God alone to bring you out and defeat your foes. But you need to trust in God, stand still and see Him deliver you.
Then you shall hold your peace—your unbelieving fears and clamours should be comforted to know that the captain of the host of heaven is ahead of you in every battle.
The Lord is our Strong offence and defence. The shield and buckler referred to in Psalm 35:2 and the spear and javelin in Vs 3 represents God’s extremes weaponry. The javelin could be hurled at enemies from a distance while the spear served better in close combat, which is how the Lord intends to fulfil Psalm 35:1.
We see God go before and fight for man in Joshua 10:14, and there was no day like that. There was no period in which the sun was kept so long above the horizon as on that occasion. The children of Israel defeated five kings in battle because the Lord fought for them. The same promise He gave you and me, He will not just go before us but will actively fight for us and defeat our foes.
When we watch the next news story about a tragedy or disaster, we can remember that God promises his presence no matter what we encounter. Trusting God means taking on our fears head-on and moving to a place of peace.
GOD’S PROMISE TO YOU
• You can overcome your fear, for I am with you.
• I will always be your protector and fortress.
We should always be thankful to Father God, for always being there for us as a comforter and protector in times of trouble.
When we pray against those evil rising against us, the enemy attacking us, the hateful people seeking to harm us, try and remember that the Lord is already ahead of you and allow God to fight on your behalf as His faithful one.
Shalom
