GODLY PARENTING!

Proverbs 22:6 GNT
Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their life.

The training of a child is to initiate early instruction in
the way—literally, “his or her way,” that is selected for him in which he should go.
Initiate the child at the beginning of life in the way recommended by the scriptures and acceptable to morality so they can walk right later in life, and to choose they conduct themselves in everything.
Show them the duties, dangers, and blessings of the right path, and give them directions on how to perform the duties, escape the dangers, and how to secure their blessings.
Fix the word of God on their minds daily according to Deuteronomy 19:11, till their impression become indelible, then lead him to practise by slow and almost imperceptible degrees, till they form strong habits.
Train children, not in the way they would go, that of their corrupt hearts, but in the way, they should go; in which, if you love them, you would have them go.
As godly parents, we have a duty of care to see our children become all that the Lord ordained them to be, they don’t belong to us but to God, we’re merely custodians who must discharge that duty with care.
Parenting is the most incredible responsibility given to us by the Lord and we can’t afford to mess it up as is so common today, because whatever we deposit in our children is what they will produce.
I saw a post that broke my heart and filled me with holy anger to declare that some people are not fit to be parents. A mother at a gathering surrounded by adults with a child of about three was smoking shisha and her mother handed her a bottle of beer to drink from.
Sadly, this has become a norm, parents (mothers) are turning their daughters into sex objects and their sons into violent monsters. They keep asking for parenting advice on social media and post everything their children do either to commend them or embarrass them to behave. This is not godly parenting, neither is this love or caring.
What sort of life will these children live when they grow up or if they grow up?
Children are not a by-product of a biological function.
The bible teaches that children will not depart from good training, no matter how life turns out for them. As soon as possible every child should be led to the knowledge of the Saviour.
We cannot leave the training of our children to churches or teachers, we are responsible for teaching them spiritual truths, and moral and physical etiquette. As godly parents, we must lead our children to go God’s way through loving and consistent discipline according to Titus 2:1-5.
Godly parents must carefully nurture their children, to make disciples out of them for Christ and teach them how to live the Christian life by word and examples. Unfortunately, so many children are suffering from an orphan’s syndrome because like Eli in 1 Samuel 2 they’ve been mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually abandoned by either one or both parents and left to train themselves or by society and their mates.
If you are a parent train your children in godly ways, you can’t leave them to roam like cattle and expect them to act like princes. Parents, train, not ruin your child’s life!
Shalom
