AT HIS WORD!

Luke 5:5 KJV
And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word, I will let down the net.

The word of God possesses the ability and power to create and to change, he is spirit and life and progressively active in working and according to Isaiah 55:11, the word can’t be stopped.
What would you do at His word?
The word of God is the all-in-one tool, equipment, weapon, and key to both the physical and natural world.
People give us their words daily in all circumstances but how weighty are these words? What power do their words hold? How effective can it be in a situation?
There is no recording in the scriptures or in history where it says the word of God failed, rather evidence abounds of the infallibility of the word, John 10:35 says the scriptures can’t be broken, meaning the word of God is indestructible.
We rationalise, reason, and evaluate the word of God to determine if he will work in our favour, sadly, sometimes we decide against standing on his word. Instead of responding to the word as Peter and co did in saying “at your word” and standing on the unshakable, unsinkable, and unbreakable truth of the word, we chose to try everything else but or before the word.
The intending Olympic gold medallist does everything the trainer tells him to do. He doesn’t question his expertise, coaching skills, and word, he does things exactly at his word.
Why then do believers who profess to love the Lord, question every instruction in the scriptures and justify our disobedience? Jesus says in John 14:15 that we will keep his commandment if we love him, it is safe to say then that since we can’t, don’t or won’t do things at his word, we don’t obey and we don’t obey because we don’t love him.
The word is foolishness to those who are perishing says 1 Corinthians 1:18, you’d expect the opposite to be the case. We are quick to take the word of a man as truth but doubt the word of God and are sceptical of scriptural promises because it doesn’t come with any physical guarantees.
To maintain a victorious life, our walk with God should be “at His word, if you say so, Lord, and I will do what you say, Lord”. Rather than keep trying things our way, we should operate from a place where this becomes our daily mantra. Lord, I will do it because you say so!
Peter got his net-breaking catch, a breakthrough, a change of story, or a turnaround because of his response. Lord, I’ll do it because you said so.
How about you? Are you willing to do it because the Lord says so?
The word of God should according to Psalm 119:103 be so sweet that we are desperate to want to do what the word says.
We must see the scriptures, the word of God as a priceless treasure that must be dug for according to Psalm 119:162, nothing of worth lies on the surface of the earth. Water, oils, petroleum, and precious metal are all under the earth and must be searched and dug for, discovery is usually accompanied by excitement.
The word of God is the only investment that yields a return that surpasses the impute.
You don’t pay for the word!
You don’t work for it!
You speak and obey the word!
At His word! Things change!
Shalom
