SPIRITUAL BOUNDARIES!

Exodus 23:31 CSB
I will set your borders from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the wilderness to the Euphrates River. For I will place the inhabitants of the land under your control, and you will drive them out ahead of you.

There are all kinds of boundaries, physical, emotional, financial, relational, and spiritual. A boundary is what marks the end of one property, landmark, space or jurisdiction and the beginning of another. In interpersonal relationships, a boundary is what divides one person from another, so that each can have separate identities, responsibilities, and privileges. A boundary creates necessary space between individuals. Healthy boundaries define expectations and respect for others.
A spiritual boundary is a dividing landmark between you and the enemy, letting the enemy know how far he can go and no further. The bible admonishes us in Proverbs 22:28, to not move old borders (boundaries) that have been put in place.
God placed everything in creation in its proper and right places and they all have their boundaries. He decided the sizes, measurements, cornerstone, and location according to Job 38.
Setting personal boundaries has become more acceptable in our society today as society focuses on better mental health and less on interpersonal relationships.
When we mark boundaries, we are defining what we are personally and spiritually responsible for. Figuring out what to believe is hard, so people interpret the same passages of Scripture in vastly different ways. These variations can come from mostly poor study, lack of understanding, cultural context, or a mistranslation of the original text.
If God placed boundaries on all of creation and has given all power to us, it means we have the authority and power to enforce spiritual boundaries on the elements and the enemy according to Ezekiel 47:13-48.
Everyone put up emotional and mental boundaries for self-protection, and mental wellness which professionals agree are healthy.
Spiritual boundaries are similarly beneficial to our spiritual well-being and there should be clear boundaries to govern the beliefs we hold and how we put those beliefs into practice.
How far would you allow the enemy to go before you say enough and no further? The enemy always takes liberties with or without your permission if you have no boundaries in place. The Bible tells us that the spiritually immature are “tossed back and forth by the waves and blown everywhere in Ephesians 4:14.
We must learn to set spiritual guidelines concerning doctrine and for this to happen we must know the truth as stated in 2 Timothy 1:13. But the word of God tells us where each boundary landmark is located and how to take authority over them.
We must know the boundary on how to please God and not People: John 5:44.
When you set priorities, make sure you know the boundaries, and do not go beyond the limit of God’s will set in Luke 16:13.
God promises rewards for those who set spiritual boundaries to keep the idols out and setting spiritual boundaries entails discernment according to Psalm 101:3.
It involves having the foresight to see where a particular path will lead and choosing appropriately, Proverbs 4:14–15 and Proverbs 22:3.
Spiritual boundary requires a commitment to the Lord according to Joshua 24:15.
Studying and obeying the Word of God according to Psalm 119:33 helps to set spiritual boundaries.
Spiritual boundaries are there to protect and benefit us by guiding our lives. Build boundaries to protect yourself spiritually. They will help you avoid pitfalls.
