GOD HAS NO FAVORITES!

Romans 2:11 (AMP)
For God shows no partiality [undue favour or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another].

God has no favourites! As much as some would claim they are God’s favourites, everyone is His in equal measures.
We each have someone or something that we favour over another, a colour, food, place, clothing and even people. Some parents favour one child over the other, although that is unacceptable and shouldn’t be condoned.
The justice system should be pure, straight, and impartial, and should only punish those whom the weight of evidence condemns. Justice shouldn’t play favourites, shouldn’t tolerate injustice, accept only truth, and impeccable fairness. Tragically, the reality of the world justice system is the opposite of what it should be-it’s full of lies and half-truths, it ignores real evidence and works with assumed guilt, it plays favouritism to those with deep pockets and high networks and grossly advances injustice.
However, when we look at the kind of justice meted out in the modern world, we see a different picture. Justice, at times, seems to be able to peer over her blindfold and recognize ethnicity, gender, age, status, and geographical advantage, there is no doubt that a disproportionately high number of minorities feel Justice’s sword from the wrong end. And her scales do seem weighted in favour of the wealthy since the best lawyer money can buy is usually much more adept at persuading her than a public defender fresh out of law school.
And this is the situation in lands where Justice is revered! In lands where Justice is not admired, little attempt to administer true justice is encouraged.
No wonder, then, that many oppressed and mistreated peoples are crying out for justice to God.
There is good news about God’s justice, though: “Remember,” wrote the apostle Peter in 1 Peter 1:17, “that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favourites when he judges. He will judge or reward you according to what you do”. Peter was not speaking, in this context, about the judgment of God that will determine whether a sinner’s eternal destiny is heaven or hell. Rather, Peter was referring to the type of life expected of the one whose sins have been forgiven through God’s action. Reminding us that God paid a ransom to save us from the empty life we inherited from our ancestors. He paid for us with the precious life and blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God according to 1 Peter 1:18-19, assuring us that we are cleansed from our sins when we accept the truth of the Good News.
God’s impartial evaluation discussed here is all about life when we’re been born again. God’s grace has been made available to everybody. He has no favourites, but He loves us all perfectly with the same love. Spend time discovering who He is, spend time in spiritual growth, and you’ll be doing yourself great good.
Have no fear that your sins will be judged more harshly than another’s. They have been dealt with by Christ’s death. But your redeemed life will be examined by a Judge who has no favourites, God treats everyone the same, what He does for one, He’ll do for another because you are special as every one of His children is.
Shalom
