STAY IN YOUR LANE!

Hebrews 12:1 TPT
As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.

Stay in your lane is often used in social for someone attempting to speak on issues, they are not intimately familiar with, do things they’re not trained for, approved off, ordained for and have no knowledge of, such as one group trying to tell another how to deal with issues that they actively face daily.
When an athlete runs in a race, his focus is not on the spectators or competitors, but on the finish line! He doesn’t trouble himself with who’s trying to get in his lane, he knows it’s distracting.
As believers, life is like a race we must run on our lanes with our eyes fixed on Jesus as prescribed by Hebrews 12:2, giving Him your undivided attention. Is anything distracting you from God or keeping you from making progress in faith? What do you need to do to focus fully on Jesus in your spiritual race?
“Magping” is how I describe what a magpie does; take shiny things wherever it finds them; it’s common both in the circular world and unfortunately in the body of Christ for people to think what others have, is better than theirs’.
Most seem to think that God makes mistakes in giving out gifts, talents, skills, and anointing. You hear things like; if only that gift was mine or, what a waste of talent-they can’t even use it properly, and many such derogatory comments but what we must remember is that we don’t have a choice in what gifts we’re given, according to 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, the Holy Spirit determines that.
Stay in your lane means you should only operate in the authority that God has given you, operating in the authority God hasn’t given you carries devastating consequences, ask King Saul in 1 Samuel 15:10-23. Instead of obeying the instructions of the Lord, Saul chose to take the place of the priest by carrying out a sacrifice, straying from the lane of a king into the priest.
Miriam and Aaron questioned Moses’s authority in Numbers 12, inferring that he wasn’t different from them since they too have God-given authority.
Leviticus 10:1 says, Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, taking on the role of the high priest, instead of staying as Aaron’s assistants and taking directions from him.
Terry A. O’Neal said ”Unless you’re prepared to deal with the aftermath, never invite yourself to a situation where your presence is not requested or welcomed. Don’t pull out a chair at someone else’s table, then turn around and be hurt when you feel unwelcomed.”
Unfortunately, so many of us do this, we want to tell people how to run their lives, train their children, basically everything. Or we tell them how we can do whatever they’re doing better than they can do. A driver swapping from lane to lane with no consideration is an accident waiting to happen, sadly, that driver may be his first casualty as well as others around him.
Stay in your lane, the Lord chose you for you, not to be someone else, to take another’s places, to swap life with those you think are better, and Jesus tells us as He did Peter in John 12:18-22, mind your business and Stay in your lane.
Shalom
