DETERMINATION!

Isaiah 50:7 NLT
Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame.

Determination is the quality of mind which reaches definite conclusions over a situation, a mind that has become resolute despite the obvious circumstances.
As believers, our determination to remain righteous and holy in a sin infested world is sustained by the strength of God, we are therefore confident of our victory over the enemy.
We must be determined not to get sucked into the world as it is now, which makes Christianity seem like an anomaly. There are so many things clamouring for our attention and interest, and they all seem to be more interesting, more straightforward, in fact, more of everything that we think Christianity isn’t but we must be confident of who and what we believe in and be determined to remain firm in that belief, see 1 Timothy 1:12.
Daniel knew where he was coming from, who he was, he knew his God and remembered what he’d been taught, and he was determined to remain faithful to the God of his fathers in the face of Babylon’s moral decadence, paganism, and cruelty in Daniel 1.
David counselled his son Solomon to be determined in following the God of his father (David) without deviation in 1 Chronicle 28:9.
Determination is key to pursuing Christ.
If we are to ever get ahead, we must take a determined stand, to come to a decision based on the truth of God’s word, and then walk in determination to the end irrespective of what the enemy throws at us.
A believer is always in danger of attacks both externally and spiritually, therefore, as advised in 1 Peter 5:8, we should always be on the watch and be determined not to fall prey to the adversary.
Our eyes and heart should be fixed as a flint on the gospel, on Jesus according to Hebrews 12:2, and never to give up even in the face of warfare. By faith, we can determinedly stand our ground in the hour of temptation.
We must stand fast in faith and be strong in the face of oppositions, oppression and falling away from faith according to 1 Corinthians 16:13.
Our determination should be to God and humanity, there’s a good example of determination to humanity in Mark 2. Wouldn’t it be great to know that we have friends with so much Godly love, determination and faith that they are willing to do whatever it takes for us to be who and where God wants us to be?
Whether it be physical or spiritual. Wouldn’t we all like friends like this? I have some, thank God for them, their determination to stand by me has not just helped me through tough times but have seen me through some tight spots.
When you know what you want, who you are and where your confident trust is, you may find yourself standing alone if those around you do not have the same vision and conviction you do. Sometimes you may go through trials and tribulations just to grow stronger spiritually. It is through these times that God sees your determined faith.
Remember that your faith and determination will be tested because what you go through may help someone else benefit from what you learn. So, be determined to never give up!
Shalom
