NOT GUILTY!

Romans 8:1-4 (BBE)
1 For this cause those who are in Christ Jesus will not be judged as sinners.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law was not able to do because it was feeble through the flesh, God, sending his Son in the image of the evil flesh, and as an offering for sin, gave his decision against sin in the flesh:
4 So that what was ordered by the law might be done in us, who are living, not in the way of the flesh, but in the way of the Spirit.

Guilty! This should be the verdict to us all, as sinners but the grace of God appeared to us through Christ Jesus declaring us not guilty.
According to John 3:18-19, everyone, unbelievers, and backsliders stans guilty before the Lord because they have not accepted Christ as their saviour.
When we break a law, moral, ethical, and spiritual, we are held accountable and the discipline for such conduct are subject to the requirement of the governing body. Innocent until proven guilty is how the judicial system decides the punishment for crime but God says you are not guilty even when guilty.
Guilt is primarily a state or condition, not a feeling. According to the Bible Romans 3:10, 23, we are all guilty before God. The fact that a person may not “feel guilty” does not affect his or her guilty status legally or morally.
We all make mistakes, and according to God’s word in Romans 3:23, we all have sinned, if so, then we are guilty of violating God’s word and are deserving of punishment but no matter how you came to your situation or how long you’ve carried that distressing burden of guilt, God is ready to declare you not guilty once you confess and repent of your sin.
The not-guilty verdict was first handed to us in Romans 5:8, while were still in sin, actively committing a crime, the Lord Jesus took the sentence that would have been handed to us when caught, death-according to Romans 6:23.
Not guilty! Said Jesus to the thief on the cross in Luke 23:43 who for all his lifetime pursued sin, actively breaking moral, judicial and spiritual law, yet at his sentencing, he got a get out of jail card.
Guilty! Declares Lucifer in 2 Corinthians 2:11 while listing all our crimes in Revelation 12:10 daily to overthrow us from God’s love.
Not guilty! Jesus Christ our defence attorney recognizes our sin and the just penalty due but decided to defend us against Satan, the prosecutor. He offered Himself in our place, He took the punishment that we deserve according to 2 Corinthians 5:21. The guiltless one, who committed no crime, took the place of the guilty criminal in Romans 3:21-26 and declared him not guilty by His righteous action.
The conviction of guilt can drive us to the point of despair and condemn us to the point of brokenness but because we are now in Christ Jesus, walking after the Spirit and not the flesh, we are no longer in condemnation and guilt.
When we put our trust in Christ, our sins are forgiven and we are freed from the eternal consequences of our sins according to Ephesians 1:7. If we accept Jesus as our defence attorney, we will not be found guilty of our crimes.
God makes the rule, He is the only wise one and the righteous judge according to Psalm 89:14, that is why God can declare a guilty person innocent and not guilty.
Not guilty is offered to everyone who desires it, it is guaranteed by accepting Jesus as your saviour and advocate. If you are yet to accept Jesus’ offer to be your defence attorney, will you consider doing so today? He’s the only way to receive a not guilty verdict according to John 14:6.
Accept Christ and God the judge becomes your heavenly Father. You are no longer guilty!
Shalom
