SPIRITUAL DELAY!

Proverbs 13:12 (CSBBible)
Hope delayed makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

Delay! We will all experience it. Some of us are too emotional, too impatient, and too doubting to wait out a season. Nobody likes delays and disappointments but sometimes the Lord uses them for His purpose and His glory.
Hope posts forward to realizing our blessings! Delay in the gratification pains the mind, the increase of the delay changes and sickens the heart, and ultimate disappointment kills it.
But when the thing desired, hoped for, and expected comes, it is a tree of life, that comforts and invigorates both body and soul.
Restlessness is something we all experience and that often stems from delay, delay causes us to jump from place to place.
Sometimes there is a kind of necessity that believers should be afflicted, when there are no trials, we may become spiritually careless, and when we prosperity easily, we may become worldly-minded.
Disappointment and frustrations set in when things don’t work the way we expect after we’ve fasted, prayed, believed, and trusted God for some things for a long time. Some may forgo their dreams and visions because of this but not all delays are bad, sometimes we must exercise patience until we obtain the promises of God according to Hebrews 6:12.
The devil is trying to frustrate you by blocking your breakthroughs. Child of God, if you don’t resist the devil according to James 4:8, the devil will surely vex you. For you to overcome negative delays, you must engage in spiritual warfare. You must fight off the devil on the altar of faith and prayer.
Don’t allow your hope deferred to become negative, discouraging, disappointing or frustrating to the point of delay but squash the bug of delay that may create ungodly desperation which may end up causing us to lose out on the very thing we’re waiting for.
Sarah giving Hagar to Abraham in Genesis 16:1-5 was a distraction and delay to God’s plan.
Delay causes wrong decisions and wrong spiritual, geographical and physical relocation like 1 King 19:1-18.
Some think they have to change locations for the change they seek, but that, unfortunately, might create more delays and doesn’t guarantee change, like Naomi and her family in Ruth 1:1-6, moving to Moab for a change but instead she lost everything anyway. Wrong decisions have wrong consequences and extend the delay we experience.
Delay causes us to doubt God’s word- Luke 1:18-20, God knows us well, as He did Zachariah, which is the reason his mouth was shut to stop his word from delaying or aborting God’s plan and purposes.
Spiritual delays may be caused by sin, when we intentionally sin and do not confess and repent, it stunts our growth and could stop us from moving forward, see Acts 3:19.
Intentional disobedience to God’s creates delays.
Lack of personal and spiritual development: bible studies, praying and fellowship.
Delay sets in when we’re out of God’s will instructs Ephesians 5:5-20.
Many believers, either out of omission or commission, have stepped out of God’s will for their lives and are chasing fantasies and are experiencing delays in certain areas.
I don’t like delay neither do you, seek the Lord in fasting and praying, let His word guide you to get out of whatever delay you’re facing.
Shalom
